Special Notes and Features
*1 - Power (Amp) De-Rated Values
UL requires that a Breakers and PDU's be de-rated by 20% from their maximum value to allow for padding. Just like you wouldn't want to red-line your car all the time you should give yourself some head room when loading your PDU for events like start-up surges and other sudden demands. This will help ensure that you prevent nuisance circuit breaker tripping. To complicate matters a bit this only applies to North American standards, European ratings already have the de-rated amp ratings on their devices. Below is a table showing the input rating vs. the de-rated Output rating
| Input | De-Rated Value |
|---|---|
| 15A | 12A |
| 20A | 16A |
| 30A | 24A |
| 40A | 32A |
| 50A | 40A |
| 60A | 48A |
